New York, NY –– This exhibition, curated by Maura Reilly, was dedicated to the work of New York-based painter, Rudy Shepherd, a 2009 resident in the Location One International Residency Program. It presented a recent body of work titled The Healers, which included portraits of his heroes, like Sun-Ra, Angela Davis, and Audre Lorde, as well as portraits of recent Taliban recruits and criminal/victim drawings.
